PILLARS OF JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP
At The Baker Law Firm, we dedicate much of our practice to protecting the rights of people who have been accused of criminal offenses. We advocate for our clients' rights on a daily basis, and this experience has cultivated an immense passion for justice. We understand that lawyers are not the only professionals who have an impact on the criminal justice process, and we have come to appreciate the importance of each individual role in the criminal justice system.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To apply for this scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:
The student is pursuing a degree with a major or concentration in criminal justice.
The student maintains a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
The student is an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university within the United States.
The student is at least 17 years of age.
The student is a citizen of the United States.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
All students must apply through the digital application located at the bottom of this page. Applications will not be accepted via email. Students must submit proof that they are enrolled at an accredited university and proof of their current GPA. These documents may include an unofficial transcript, letter of acceptance, class schedule, or other relevant information. Additionally, all applicants must submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words answering the following prompt:

The role of a judge is often seen as the cornerstone of the judicial system, requiring impartiality, wisdom, and adherence to the rule of law. In your essay, explore the importance of judges in maintaining justice in society. What qualities—such as integrity, patience, or legal acumen—are most essential for a judge, and how do these characteristics impact the fairness of criminal cases?
WINNER SELECTION
Once the deadline passes, our scholarship team will devote four weeks to reviewing each application and narrowing down our selection to determine a winner. To make sure that your application stands out to our team, consider the following:
The student should meet all eligibility criteria listed on this page.
The student's essay should be of high quality and answer the prompt clearly and concisely.
The student's essay should be well organized and original.
