Gatlinburg 2016 Wildfire Losses Prompt Lawsuit Against National Park Service

Attorney Lance Baker, founding attorney at The Baker Law Firm, is acting as co-counsel in a 148-page lawsuit suing the National Park Service for its negligence in failing to contain the Chimney Tops 2 wildfire inside the Great Smokey Mountains National Park in November 2016. The fires ultimately swept through Gatlinburg and Sevier County, Tennessee, killing 14 persons and destroying hundreds of houses and other properties.

Plaintiff Michael Reed, who lost his wife Constance and two daughters Lily and Chloe in the fire, is asking for $13 million.
